KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a naturally occurring tripeptide derived from the C-terminus of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Research has focused on its ability to reduce inflammatory signaling — particularly in the gut — by interacting with melanocortin receptors on immune cells and intestinal lining cells. Pre-clinical studies have examined KPV in models of colitis and inflammatory bowel conditions, as well as in wound healing and skin repair applications.
